Accession Tournament

Excerpt from the Atheria Chronicles: 620 A.N.

As times get more desperate the Guild has created the Accession tournament to find the one True Hero who is prophesied to save Atheria from its greatest threat and hopefully end the World Breaches that are now occurring regularly in 13-week intervals. The Guild has learned how to harness the power of the defeated world boss and bestow it on one adventurer through an ancient crown relic found by a group of young Academy students inside the statute standing above the Aetheon Portal of all places!

These quarterly events, labeled seasons, occur when Atheria aligns cosmically with a random reality. Thus, allowing their monsters to cross over more frequently. To be fair and avoid months of battles, a tournament system has been established called the Accession Tournament. The sole winner will be granted this empowered Accession Crown until the next World Breach.

The season leaderboards for individuals, clans and factions provide order and a fair way to decide who can compete. The top 24 season individuals and the winners of eight free for all qualifiers will compete in a 32-bracket tournament over two weeks after the World Boss battle occurs. There are also fun mock battles for clans to compete and many other contests and rewards. It is a great distraction for the people while encouraging adventurers to defeat more of these monsters that plague us.
