World Breaches

Excerpt from The Atheria Chronicles: 472 A.N.

Nexus suffered great damage during the last World Breach. Since the great seal of the Aetheon is not infallible, the destructive chaos builds up or rages when the cosmic alignments weaken the fabric of reality, it buckles and causes these giant world breaches. It is not a simple portal opening, a breach is a violent tearing of reality, where a sliver of one of the Aetheon’s infinite realities bleeds through into Atheria near the heart of Nexus. This must be the reason the Hero Party founded the Guild and built the town of Nexus around it.

A breach is terrifying to behold. The sky itself warps as the laws of nature bend and creatures that should not exist are given a terrifying foothold in our world. Waves of monsters pour out until finally a world boss arrives. For the Adventurer’s Guild of Nexus, these are the moments of greatest peril and greatest duty. Only through the combined might of the Guild can we shield against the encroaching darkness.
